As worldwide energy demands surge, the need for smarter, more sustainable energy solutions is increasingly urgent - and Louisiana is uniquely positioned to lead the charge. The state touches nearly 20% of all energy in the U.S., with a combination of favorable geology, existing infrastructure, generational workforce, and rich history of energy expertise.

With funding from the National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines) program, the FUEL Engine is leveraging these strengths to position Louisiana as a global leader in next-generation energy solutions.

The Engine’s growing network of 50+ partners - spanning academia, government, community, capital, and industry stakeholders - are collaborating to bring advanced carbon technologies from the lab to the market, while cultivating a workforce equipped to support the growing sector.
